It watches every clip. You make the film.
First Cut Studio turns a full day of raw footage into a chronological first cut, linked to your originals, ready to open in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
Press Start. Close the lid.
Choose your footage folder and press Start. Proxies, upload, analysis and timelines follow on their own. Close the app; the upload picks up where it left off and the analysis keeps running in the cloud.
Everything the first cut needs. Nothing it doesn't.
Strictly chronological
The main cut follows the clock of the day, across every camera.
You set the length
Three minutes for the teaser, fifteen for the film. A new length needs no new analysis.
Linked to your originals
Not to proxies. Full resolution and room to punch in.
Slow motion, labelled
50p and 100p clips arrive colour-labelled, so you see them on the timeline at once.
Nothing gets lost
Every clip is checked after the upload. Anything missing is sent again.
It looks at the picture
Shots are checked for focus and shake, then looked at. Not just what people say.
From card dump to timeline.
- 1 · FootagePoint it at the folder. It finds every clip on every camera.
- 2 · Create proxiesLight copies are made on your laptop and sent to the cloud.
- 3 · AnalysisEvery shot is measured, looked at and described.
- 4 · TimelinesMain cut, alternatives and rest. Open them in your editor.
Three timelines. Nothing thrown away.
The main cut follows the day. Alternatives hold the other good takes. Everything else lands in Rest, so nothing is ever gone.
Your originals never leave your drive.
Only light proxies are uploaded. Your camera files stay where they are.
The analysis runs on servers in the European Union.
Press Done, or leave a project untouched for 30 days, and it is wiped from the cloud.
Start editing, not sorting.
Early access opens soon for a small group of wedding filmmakers. Pricing follows with it.
